About the Author

Faye Westlake Newman is an Oregon-based writer who draws inspiration from the state’s rugged coastlines, mountain high plains, and lush backroads. Raised and educated in Oregon, she credits demanding English teachers for teaching her to love language and the words that paint pictures. Her passion for horses was forged through years as a 4-H Horse Club leader, where she discovered that teaching eager young riders deepened her own knowledge. Many personal experiences find their way, disguised, into her pages. She lives on the Oregon Coast and travels throughout the state whenever possible, fascinated by modern Native American ways of life and their ancestry.
